  • The new Office Administrator, Michelle Henry, begins work on March 21. 
  • Summer Spirit planning is proceeding including six churches this year.

Arts Committee | Heather Swallow, Chair

  • We discussed the upcoming Coffeehouse and installations for Easter.

Children Youth and Family Committee | Irene Griffiths, Chair

  • Godly Play has resumed on Sunday mornings!  Children are invited to come to church for the first part of the service, then accompany the storyteller and the doorkeeper to the Godly Play room after the Learning Together time.  For more information, contact Bella Harned, CYF Coordinator, at cyfcoordinator@pacificspirituc.com.
  • Did you know?  A CYF newsletter is sent out twice a month to families and others who are interested in what’s going on for children and youth at Pacific Spirit United church.  Contact Bella Harned, CYF Coordinator, at cyfcoordinator@pacificspirituc.com if you would like to be added to the list.
  • Explorations in Faith is a series of classes for youth to explore questions of faith and spirituality.  The sessions will take place on four Sundays in the afternoon/evening, at a specific time most convenient to those participating.  The dates are April 24th, May 1st, May 8th and May 15th.  Following completion of the course, participants will be invited to decide whether they feel ready to join the church.  For those who so choose, joining will take place on Pentecost Sunday, June 5th.  Please contact Bella Harned, CYF  Coordinator, for further information:  cyfcoordinator@pacificspirituc.com

In-Reach Committee | Sally Ball, Chair

  • In-Reach Committee is looking forward to increasing in-person activity.

  • Barbara McLeish continues to organize the Greeters Schedule. 

  • Cookies distributed after the worship service on the first Sunday back as a welcome to in-person worship were appreciated by attendees. Plans are afoot to celebrate Easter in a welcoming way too!

  • A review of the system for recording information from the Roll Reports and keeping accurate records on the Historical Roll is in progress.

Outreach Committee | Patricia Alexis, Chair

  • Coldest Night of the Year:  First United Church reached its goal of $100 000 plus a little more!

  • The application for the Jardo family has been sent to Rainbow Refugee, our Co-Sponsor. From there it will go to UCC General Council (Khwaka) for submission to the IRCC.

Spiritual Nurture Committee | Chris Epting, Chair

  • A New Climate for Christology: Kenosis, Climate Change, and Befriending Nature by Sallie McFague.  This book study will be led by Janey Cawley during Eastertide.   Watch for an upcoming announcement.
  • A Grief Workshop based on the book “The Wild Edge of the Sorrow” will be offered to start towards the end of June.  Watch for announcements
